Duval Kamara is Irish

Another day, another prized elite recruit announces his intention to play ball for the Irish. Yawn. This time, it's lanky superathlete Duval Kamara. Kamara, at 6'5", 209 lbs. is an imposing physical specimen and has all the natural skills to be a gamebreaker at Wide Receiver. It's never a bad thing to have another enormous target for Brady Quinn's successor to lob jump-balls toward.

Also, Duval is a really awesome name. As far as I'm concerned, if he's even half as big a badass as Robert Duvall, we're set. Especially if he's willing to pull a Tom Hagen in The Godfather and cut off Traveler's head for Pete Carroll to discover in his bed the next morning:

For those of you keeping track, this is the third top-tier offensive recruit that Notre Dame has landed in head-to-head battles with USC (amid a myriad of other suitors), all of them coming in the usually sleepy recruiting days of spring. Something big is afoot in South Bend, friends.

He's wearing a cloak. Got anything to say about that, tough guy?

Sounds like a great guy, not only a fantastic athelete, but really enjoyed how he said academics and the programs' tradition were important to him. Damn, you guys are really constucting a juggernaught if I do say so myself.

its just sad that in 9 months when signing day rolls around theyre all going to be 3 and 4 stars max. no better way to kill your natl ranking than to commit to ND. rivals will probably have clausen behind chris weinke's 30 year old freshman son.

actually (i thought it was a cloak at first) it's just a sweatsuit jacket with the strings tied at the top. just thought i'd share. not trying to be the dick that picks on every last detail.

i heard they caught that pick while he was practicing some street magic, though.

Nicely spun analogy: Tom was a Mick Kraut.

WTF is this about rankings dropping with a commit to ND? Maybe for Rivals or Scout, but everyone who knows anything knows that Tom Lemming is where it's at, and he has Kamara as a seventeen and a half star athlete after his commit to the Irish. C'frickin'mon

Ah, a stellar example of logical thinking.

An athlete works his butt off to increase his rankings among the recruiting services so more schools look at him and hopefully offer him a ride. That athlete then signs with the school he wants, and to retaliate, the scouting services drop his ranking.

Why?

He got what he wanted!

Are you worried being dropped from a 5 star to 4 is going to hurt his signing bonus?

i couldnt care less what a biased recruiting information service has to say about our class, i was just trying to make a joke about the noted discrepancies between a player's ranking (mostly rivals) before and after they sign with ND. not quite sure what either of you are getting at... and no, weinke doesn't have a 30 year old son, but he is a sad, bald man.
