Motor City Madness!

It's everybody's favorite day of the year: Motor City Bowl Day! "But why should I care about the Motor City Bowl?" you ask. Well, I could tell you, but I'd rather sing why. Not really, actually, I'll just do a list.

1. The Motor City Bowl takes place on Boxing Day.

And as fate would have it, Akron's mascot is some kind of kangaroo thing. Kangaroos box. Advantage: Akron

2. Akron is the alma mater of the second-best current starting quarterback to matriculate from the MACC

That's right, Cleveland's Charlie Frye is a closet Zipper. Those MACC-ophiles out there must have been really good this year, cause Santa dished out a double-dipping of hot MACC action for Christmas weekend. Hot off the heels of Frye's dominating performance on Saturday, Zippy straps it back on for some rowdy good times in D-town. Represent.

3. The Motor City Bowl is in Ford Field, home of Super Bowl XL!

If you squint your eyes, you can pretend you're at the Super Bowl. Also, Eminem is from Detroit. Also, Detroit sucks.

4. Memphis has a stud tailback named DeAngelo Williams

And, if you're like me, you just recently watched National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, which stars none other than the lovely and talented Beverly D'Angelo. Advantage: Memphis

Need I go on? So, tune in! Memphis just took a 10-3 lead.
